Isuru Udana Announced his Retirement from International Cricket Immediately

Sri Lankan players showed a great game in the ODI and T20 series played against India, but the team definitely lost the one-day series but made a great comeback in the one-day series and registered a victory in both the formats before the series. But during the ODI series, Sri Lanka came very close to victory.

After the end of the series, the Sri Lankan board seemed very happy and had also announced cash reward for the players, but now a news has come which has given a big blow to the team going through the transition. Sri Lanka’s experienced fast bowler Isuru Udana suddenly announced his retirement. The series against India proved to be the last international series for him.

Due to injury, this player, sitting out of the last T20, suddenly decided to say goodbye to cricket. On Saturday, this player of the Sri Lankan cricket team announced his retirement from international cricket. Why fast bowler Isuru Udana, who played 21 ODIs and 34 T20 matches for Sri Lanka, decided to put an end to his 12-year career, only time will tell, but it is believed that he has been injured in the recent times. I was very upset and for this reason he was forced to take this decision.

Udana suffered an injury even before his third and series-deciding T20 match against India. Due to injury, he was not part of the team’s playing XI in the last match. However, in the last match, the team showed a great game by defeating India by 7 wickets and won the series 2 1 and after the victory, now Udana has said goodbye to international cricket. The following year in 2009, Udana made his international debut in a T20I match against Australia in Nottingham.

In a career spanning 12 years, he continued to be in and out of the team due to injury and poor form. The player took 27 wickets in 34 T20 matches while scoring 256 runs. In the home series against India in 2012, Udana got a chance to make his ODI debut. In 21 ODIs, this player took 18 wickets and scored 237 runs. Isuru Udana is only 33 years old and the way Sri Lankan team has performed in recent times, the departure of another experienced player from the team can be very heavy for the team.
