Sanju Samson out of 1st ODI Series against Sri Lanka, Due to Injury

Before the ODI series, everyone felt that Sanju Samson would be the wicketkeeper. Ishan Kishan will not get a chance and Sanju Samson should be given the place. This was the opinion of most of the fans and they were thinking so too. But what happened? The team management gave a chance to Ishan Kishan. Suresh Kumar Yadav also made his ODI debut along with Ishan Kishan.

Although no one objected to Ishan Kishan’s debut, the question came to mind that why Sanju Samson was not given a chance. Two fans on Twitter started cursing the management that again injustice has been done to Sanju Samson. But it is not so. Why didn’t Sanju Samson play? We tell you the reason behind this.

BCCI said that Sanju Samson has a problem with the ligament in his knee and hence he is not playing in this match. The medical team is currently keeping an eye on Sanju Samson, had Sanju Samson been fit, he would probably be playing the first ODI and he would also have made his ODI debut.

In such a situation, Ishan Kishan has to sit out, both of these are wicketkeeper batsmen, Sanju Samson is not in the team, so Ishan Kishan is playing the responsibility of wicketkeeper. However, Sanju has had to struggle a lot so far to make it to the team. He has played only T20 matches for India but has not got a place in ODIs yet. Sanju Samson has played a total of seven T20Is for India so far and has scored 83 runs.
