The venue decided by the ICC this time regarding the organization of the T20 World Cup is UAE. This time T20 World Cup will not be held in India. Rather it has been shifted to UAE.

Although hosting such a big tournament will still be in the hands of India, but before that it was expected that this event of T20 World Cup would be held in India itself. But in the midst of the increasing cases of covind 19 and the increasing possibilities of the third wave, there was a lot of meetings between the ICC and the BCCI.

There was a lot of discussion and after that a final decision was taken that T20 World Cup will be organized in UAE. In the dates announced by the ICC, it came out broadly that this event will be held from October 17. The final match will be played on November 14. That IPL will also be organized in UAE, whose final match will be played on October 15. This time the T20 World Cup will be held in two rounds. The first round will be qualifiers where eight teams will face each other and on the basis of these teams, four teams will emerge which will compete with the Super Trail named in round two. The qualifier rounds are said to start from October 17. In the round which will close before round two, there are teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, and Oman and these teams will sit in two groups. There will be a total of 12 matches between these teams and each team will get to play three matches. Whoever is the top two teams in these groups will advance to the next round and the next round is the Super Trail. Where there are teams like India, England, Pakistan, West Indies, Australia, Afghanistan, New Zealand and South Africa first and the teams will join with these teams, the 4 who will come after winning the qualifying round. There will be a total of 30 matches between these teams. The entire 12 teams will be divided into two groups. There will be a group of 6 teams and each team will get to play about 5 matches. Whichever teams top two of these groups will qualify for the playoffs and then the semi-final and final rounds will begin. The first winner of the T20 World Cup was India, India won this big tournament in 2007. After that in 2009, Pakistan won this tournament. Then in 10 England in 2012 West Indies won the T20 World Cup for the first time. Sri Lanka came in 2014 and again West Indies won this World Cup in 2016. After this, it was expected that the World Cup T20 match would be held in 2018 but the ICC changed the rules and now due to two years, there is talk of organizing the T20 World Cup every four years. Due to no covid19 in 2020, this event could not be held but now when this event is going to be held in 2021 and is going to be held in UAE, there is a lot of excitement among the teams and among cricket lovers about it. That’s looking at India’s condition as a strong team for the World Cup, but the kind of game and performance in big matches, it disappoints a lot. In the last 8 years, it has been seen that the Indian team has lost 6 major ICC tournaments. Talking about 2015 and 2014, then Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the captain, even there India had lost ICC tournaments and in 2017 ever since Kohli took over the captaincy there was also the Champions Trophy World Cup and recently. In the World Test Championship India lost the match, winning this time’s World Cup T20 match has become a big challenge especially for captain Kohli because his captaincy is also being questioned a lot.
